Apple Pulls Apps Found Collecting Private User Data

Analytics service SourceDNA said on Sunday that as it was adding the ability to scan apps for private API usage to its Searchlight service, the company discovered that “hundreds” of iOS apps on Apple’s App Store were collecting private information from consumers. These apps acquired the device serial number, the user’s AppleID email address, and a list of installed apps.
