Though it may be used to attracting all sorts of fawning whenever it releases a GTA 6 trailer, Rockstar caused an altogether different kind of PR event last week when it fired over 30 workers who belonged to a Discord server related to labour organising. Rockstar denies the workers’ attempts at unionising had anything to…
Fraser Brown, Online Editor (Image credit: Future) This week, I mostly ignored my PC in lieu of being on holiday, and now I am filled with rage. I’m not really a PvP boy. It’s not that I’m friendly, but I am absolutely cowardly. Gimme some AI to stomp, rather than a sweaty gamer who might—god…
Despite building a career on writing, Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser says he’s “less scared than a lot of people” about LLMs and AI worming their way into videogame development and beyond. Speaking on the Lex Fridman podcast, Houser was asked how he felt about the recent uptick in large language models and the increasing quality…
World of Warcraft: Midnight is doing something pretty huge—with Blizzard taking aim at the game’s combat mods, also known as AddOns, by making changes to the API (which feeds them the info they need to work). Meanwhile, on the likes of Amazon, many DDR5 kit retail prices have doubled since August. The upshot of which is that while PC memory prices look unappealing right now,…
Unlocking the Applied Esoterica badge in Peak isn’t exactly easy. You’ll need a specific item to spawn in your run, not to mention requiring you to actually find the item on your adventure, which is often easier said than done. Luckily, it’s not locked to a biome, so given you’re making good progress, your chances…
The queue to get into Marvel Rivals must be out the door by now, as it feels like NetEase teases a new pair of heroes every other day. But like clockwork, there are two more heroes ready to tussle for the next spot on the roster, as two new X-Men have been spotted in the…
The Competitive Eating badge in Peak is a relatively easy badge to tick off your list, as you don’t need to venture to a specific biome to find one item to complete its challenge. With that said, much like a lot of the challenges in Peak, it is slightly luck-dependent as there’s no guarantee the…
