“Enhanced and optimized”. Earlier this week, Sega announced it would be releasing five games on the Switch 2 within the launch window the system. One of these happens to be last year’s release Sonic x Shadow Generations. Sega has now provided a slight update about this particular game, revealing a Switch 2 game trailer –…
Despite passing through an intense Sonic the Hedgehog phase when I was around nine years old, I wouldn’t say I gotta go particularly fast. Over the ensuing two decades I’ve rarely sought out the classic pastime of accelerating a cartoon mascot to inhumane speeds. I’ve been content leaving platforming to speedrunners, kaizo enthusiasts—really, anyone who…
Playable at the World Championships. Pokémon Legends: Z-A isn’t out until October, but this weekend there’s a Switch 2 demo at the 2025 Pokémon World Championships. The first impressions are now rolling in, and we’ve put together some thoughts so far – starting with a ‘hands on’ from our senior video producer Zion Grassl. Although…
Despite being a game about a troop of adorable climbers being subjected to a variety of poisons, lethal weather conditions, and deadly falls, Peak is impressively delightful. Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection should have been an easy win. It bundles together the first four Mortal Kombat games, including the WaveNet version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 previously thought lost, as well as less fondly remembered spin-offs like Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero for the sake of completeness and the memes. It also comes with…
“I wanted to make something for them”. There are loads of amazing games on Playdate, but Lucas Pope’s recently released Mars After Midnight almost feels like the killer app the tiny yellow handheld has been crying out for. Amusing, compelling and an experience which makes good use of the console’s signature crank, it’s a wonderful…
