Mistfall Hunter, the upcoming dark fantasy action extraction RPG, is heading into its first-ever XBOX playtest this June. What is Mistfall Hunter?
Mistfall Hunter is set in a shattered world named Weavereach, where the gods have long since perished and the Gyldenmist is corrupting the realm. Amid the darkness, stories of heartbreak and defiant courage endure. Hope persists through Dew, a fragment of the Fate Goddess’s soul that grants immortality to fallen heroes.
Players take on the role of a Gyldhunter, choosing from six distinctive classes that blend magic and steel. The game’s combat design allows for significant flexibility, enabling Gyldhunters to switch weapons mid-battle to adapt to the enemies they encounter. Whether stalking the mist as a lone wolf or banding together in a three-player squad, Gyldhunters can master their combat styles or execute devastating combos with teammates to survive the perils of the hunt.
Once inside the Gyldenmist, Gyldhunters will find ruins filled with treasure, guarded by the Corroded and terrifying Mist Lords. They can defeat these monsters for spoils or take a more ruthless path by hunting other Gyldhunters for their loot. However, the stakes are absolute: death means losing everything.
To secure a safe return to the Windrest, Gyldhunters must hunt down the Returner Woodling for the Soul of Return, the key to carving a path home, though the Gyldenmist may conceal more than one way out.
New to the Beta: The Withered Knight and Beyond
The upcoming playtest represents a major milestone for Mistfall Hunter, delivering a substantial expansion that further unveils the dark mysteries of the world while adding new layers of depth to the extraction experience.
New Class: Withered Knight
Once the elite guard of the Pontiff, the Withered Knights were symbols of honor before losing their names, bonds, and glory to the ruin of the world. Now wandering as ghosts of a shattered faith, they bring a powerful frontline presence to the hunt. Arriving in the upcoming playtest, the Greatsword Withered Knight demands a calculated combat rhythm, using immense reach and formidable parry techniques to shatter enemy defenses and anchor their squad against the darkness.
New Map: Hallowgrave
Gyldhunters can also explore Hallowgrave, a brand-new, highly vertical map set within a bleached and sacred forest. This haunting new environment is packed with secrets to uncover. Gyldhunters will cross paths with the Divine Anchor, a pale relic that draws corrupted enemies to its lingering power, and traverse the coastal highlands of Hastine’s Fall, where a giant’s corpse still radiates with divine strength. But the true test lies in the claustrophobic shadows of the Witchery Woods, where Gyldhunters must survive its ghostly secrets to confront the devastating power of a false god.
