Demonstrated on X by user @tyousameYSK, the trick in question pertains to the original NES release of Super Mario Bros. and its quintessential power-up: The Super Mushroom.
tyousameYSK’s clip depicts Fun Guy Mario finding a fungi Super Mushroom in the legendary platformer’s opening stage: World 1-1. Unfortunately for our hero – as has been the case for millions of players over the past four decades – the Mushroom falls from the platform and trundles off into a nearby abyss. A situation that we have all experienced on many a poor run.
