Hideo Kojima’s Snatcher is considered one of the best visual novel-style adventures of the late ’80s, and it was such a success in Japan that it was released across a wide range of systems, including PC-8801, MSX2, PC Engine, Sega CD, PlayStation, and Sega Saturn.
If it were released today, Snatcher would have been localised for all the platforms that made sense, but at the time of release, Kojima wasn’t the internationally famous video game auteur he is today; as a result, Snatcher was released outside Japan on only one platform: Sega’s Mega CD.
