Good news co-op fans, Mycopunk just revealed its 1.0 launch date at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. It’s coming October 20, so you only have to wait exactly one month for it. If you’re unfamiliar with Pigeons at Play’s FPS, let me get you caught up.
You and your friends play as a squad of robots who get sent to alien planets to kill the fungal monstrosities that are infesting everything. Neat. Each world you arrive on has a mission for you to complete. These can range from simple objectives like clearing an area of enemies, or more complex ones like building railguns to shoot down space ships. You get multiple lives per mission, so you can go solo if your friends are busy, or at least not get annoyed when they croak.

Wishlist Mycopunk on Steam
Release date: October 20, 2026
Visit exotic alien planets and decimate the fungal lifeforms with your robot buddies. Mycopunk’s 1.0 update is coming October 20. You can dive into the FPS early access game right now, on Steam.
While you’re going from place to place planetside, you’ll want to make sure you’re killing every enemy you come across. They get dismembered as you fight, and be sure to destroy those pieces, too. Like a lot of fungus, just one piece remaining can keep the thing alive. Other enemies can absorb the detritus and become even stranger monstrosities for you to face later.
Between missions, you can hang out in a space station, customise your loadout and upgrade your gear, play minigames, and socialise with friends and NPCs. The upgrade system for weapons and classes is interesting. You install shapes into a hexagonal grid, so optimising space is essential if you want to make the strongest build possible.
If you want to give Mycopunk a go before it launches next month, you can download the early access version on Steam right now. It dropped its Freeze & Fester update back in August, so there’s even something for anyone who put it down over the summer.
