When the Game Boy Color hit the scene back in 1998, one of Nintendo’s first duties was crafting new, full-colour editions of some of the platform’s trademark titles. Tetris, The Legend of Zelda, Bomberman, R-Type, Wario Land and, of course, Super Mario were among the franchises that received a rainbow-washed facelift.
But no such rerelease was waiting in the wings (pun fully intended) for Pit: the angelic star of the most “bring back that franchise I’ve never actually played” series in gaming, Kid Icarus. That is all set to change, however, thanks to homebrewer Astronaut_Majestic, who is currently working on Kid Icarus DX, an unofficial Game Boy Color port of Pit’s 1991 release Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters.
