Ultra Street Fighter IV Mods Bring Rollback Netcode To The Classic Capcom Scrapper

Modders are in the process of overhauling the online component of Capcom’s legendary fighter Street Fighter IV – or, more specifically, its final iteration, Ultra Street Fighter IV, which launched back in 2014. The mods are looking to bring rollback netcode to the Steam edition of the one-on-one fighter, along with overhauled lobbies and additional updates in efforts to bring new life to a retired classic.

Currently, two mods are nearing completion: “SF4Enhanced” from coder Faabi, (built on the “SFE” mod by Anthony Danducci), and “SFEmbers“, from coder Kabiefox. Both projects are looking at the same goal: delivering fast, modernised, and consistent rollback netcode, without the need for port forwarding and replacing the native delay-based system.
