Just in case you missed it, the Ocarina of Time remake reviews are in, and they are really rather positive. They are so positive, in fact, that the game has shot straight to the top of Metacritic’s Best Games of 2026 list, and it’s placing comfortably high on the site’s all-time rankings.
At the time of writing, the game has a Metascore of 96 based on 81 critic reviews. This has bumped down the previous gold medallist, Sektori, into second, with a score of 93. Resident Evil 2: Deluxe Edition follows in third, also with 93, with The Witcher III: Wild Hunt – Remaster (92) and Big Walk (91) rounding out the top five.
