We’ve been told through Facebook that Jon Eggelton and Gianluca Alberico has released the final version of their previously announced Stronger Edition of the 2023 Commodore 64 and Commodore 128 unofficial hit of ‘SNK vs CAPCOM’; a C64 game that was developed using their in-development fighting engine known as RetroFighter. To coincide with this HOT…
Capital B here now. 11 (!) years ago, a bunch of ex-Rare staff formed a studio called Playtonic to make Yooka-Laylee, a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie that promised to skillfully carry the 3D platforming torch. Yet when the actual game launched in 2017, following an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign, it didn’t fully deliver on that…
Maybe hold off installing it at the moment. The SAROO ODE flash cart for Sega Saturn made some real waves when it started getting mainstream attention last year, and it’s abundantly clear to see why; this cheap device allows you to run your Saturn games from a MicroSD card, but, unlike other Optical Drive Emulators,…
If it’s more than two, you’re in the minority. If you’re a die-hard Nintendo fan (and, if you find yourself here, then you probably are), you’ve more than likely questioned whether you’re buying too many games. It’s a thought that’s crossed all of our minds, and new Circana data suggests that if it’s any more…
My second-favorite character in Absolum is Cider, or as I like to call them: Kung-Fu Pinocchio. Beat ’em ups are built on the strength of their character designs. The repetition inherent to the genre means that each uppercut and dive kick animation had better be satisfying. Absolum seems to be delivering that—earlier this year I…
A 30th anniversary remix album has also been announced. Bandai Namco has announced it will be holding a live event with DJs early next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Rave Racer — the third arcade entry in the Ridge Racer series that launched in arcades in 1995. The event, which is called Ridge…
Available later this month. Capcom has announced a new event for Street Fighter 6, introducing a special collaboration with Banshee’s Last Cry, the obscure Super Famicom visual novel from 1994. Players can access the new content via the World Tour mode by selecting the ‘Street Fighter’s Last Cry’ option from the ‘One Fateful Day’ menu….
Obsidian’s Pentiment is one of the most interesting games of the last several years. Set in 16th-century Bavaria, the game tasks you—journeyman artist Andreas Maler—with figuring out who keeps doin’ murders in the town of Tassing. There are plenty of potential suspects you can point the finger at, and you have to choose one whether…
“There were some faces that were going… what’s going on here?”. Chris Dring’s utterly brilliant Game Business Show has just gone live with a bunch of comments from former Sony Computer Entertainment Europe staffers to celebrate 30 years of the console in the region, and one of the topics that came up was WipEout. Released…
Starseekers Unite! We’ve already had a very brief glimpse of System Era Softworks and Devolver Digital’s rather excellent-looking Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions during the Switch 2 Direct six months back, and now the game has gone and got itself a great big 17-minute gameplay reveal, so we can get a proper look at exactly what it…
