In a recent interview with MinnMax, ZeniMax Online Studios founder Matt Firor described his reaction to his MMO, Project Blackbird, getting canceled, as well as his more general thoughts on the current moment in the industry. To hear Firor tell it, the closure of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks on the same day was recognized…
Age verification is an especially hot topic in the US right now. A California law will go into effect next year that requires operating systems to verify the user’s age at account setup and the “Parents Decide Act” may introduce similar requirements to the entire nation. There are well-documented concerns from experts about the form…
You probably could have guessed that The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is one of the most-played games on Steam Deck, but according to Valve, it shouldn’t be. Skyrim has remained on the most-played Steam Deck games list put out by the company in December, January, February, March, and now April despite having an “Unsupported” designation…
As roguelikes go, NetHack is a museum piece. I don’t say that because it’s old—though it is extremely old, originally released as it was in the same year that Lethal Weapon hit theaters—but because it is literally in the Museum of Modern Art alongside SimCity 2000 and Portal. A slow, primitive-looking grind of a game with repetitive music and confusing action, Hydlide came across as nothing so much as a terrible clone of The Legend of Zelda when it hit the NES in the spring of 1989. Thanks to its opaque goals, Hydlide certainly…
Make some space. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle makes its debut on the Switch 2 later this month, and in case you missed it, the estimated file size has been revealed. If you plan to embark on this new adventure (which takes place between the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The…
