PC5SX2 Version 2.02 unlocks PS2 accessibility.
There’s been big news in the PS2 emulation community this week with the release of Ver 2.02 of the Claude-coded PC5SX2 emulator. Once active on a modded PS5 console, the new update lets users play their PS2 games directly from disc, via the PS5’s native optical drive.
According to community sources, including original developer “Swordpdf”, once PC5SX2 2.02 is installed on a PS5, inserting a PS2 disc causes the emulator to directly stream (or live dump if the user prefers) the disc’s contents, prompting almost immediate playback through the emulator’s software.
